Winter Season is not so good for skin. Due to low temperature and low humidity results in dry air, which then causes dryness by stealing moisture from our skin. It may start cracking and bleeding if its not treated timely. Sometimes due to this we feel itching, if we rub that portion then it may cause damage to our skin. Then Chilled and harsh wind make it worse.
Some additional moisture helps but we have to put some more efforts to maintain our skin healthiness and smoothness. During winters, some skin problems like redness, itching and roughness may occur. To reduce these problems and keep skin healthy this winter, follow these tips.
- WASH IN SLIGHTLY WARM WATER
In winter season we like to take hot water showers and baths, but we can’t do this every time. We can take hot showers and bath when we can, when just washing your face or hands, use slightly warm water so that it avoid removal of oils away from our skin.
- USING MOISTURIZER IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS
Our skin not only needs moisture, but it needs it right after wash.
Applying moisture to slightly wettish skin helps to seal some of the moisture into the skin. use oil-based solutions other than water-based solutions as it helps in more effective way to help our skin retain moisture in the winter.
- USING MOISTURIZER DURING NIGHT
Apply moisturizer on dry areas like hands, feet, elbow and knees, as skin is thin at these portions and tends to loose moisture faster. After applying moisturizer, wear gloves and cotton socks to lock the moisture until the morning.
- HYDRATE SKIN FROM THE INSIDE OUT
Our skin needs hydration from the inside, out. As during winter we drink less water as we move on to hot drinks like cocoa and tea. But our skin needs hydration from inside, out. So taking warm water with few drops of lemon in it can be a good option for drinking during winter and it will be very refreshing and hydrates our skin too. Drink lots of water during winter season. Adding lots of fruits and fiber containing vegetables in a daily diet will also a good option to hydrate our skin.
THERE ARE SOME HOME REMEDIES ALSO IF YOU ARE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR SKIN, FOLLOW THESE TIPS.
- PAPAYA FACE PACK
In this we have to mash a piece of papaya and a banana fully, no lumps should be there in the face pack and then add one tablespoon honey to it and mix it well. Then apply it on the dryer areas on your face. This method will help in freshen your skin.
- COCONUT OIL
Apply coconut oil on the dry area of your body and then massage until it get absorbed in the skin. There is no need to wash the oil away, just wear gloves and cotton socks helps to lock the moisture into the body. If this process is done at night, then it will be more effective as during night our body is on rest and healing mode.
In this we need Glycerin which is easily available and some cotton use to apply it on face. Firstly clean your face properly and then make it dry. Leave it little wet and then apply glycerin with the help of cotton on dry areas on face, except eyes and lips. There is no need to wash it. It helps to restore hydration of the skin and make it soft.
